I do not see anywhere in Objectivist philosophy where it claims that money provides a correct philosophical estimation. I can only find as above provided by musashi that it is a social estimation. Thus, there is not contradiction here. i agree. i was simply adding my voice to Musashi's and providin...

what about knowledge? a lot of scientists may spend a decade doing research that proves little monitary value but is later utilized to advance science or medicine by leaps and bounds. In a private conversation with one of my plant biology professors he stated knowledge cannot be measured in dollars....

We are not talking about two groups suddenly and violently raising arms against each other in very deadly conflicts like for example the north and south america did in the the US's civil war. It is rather difficult to find an accurate analogy that dipicts the complexity of isreal and...

harnessing meanings words have to further a political agenda is brilliant. I think one of the most impressive examples of this is communism and community. Another not so impressive example is the term 'pro-choice'. the use of the term pro-choice to link pro-abortion stance in the US was brilliant. a...

Musashi, I have to admit many of your viewpoints are a metric on which others should be judged; but I do have to ask: How did you come across taoism? To (slightly shift) the discussion from your belief to one of my own -- that of fate. As a bona fide atheist I cannot help but think that past action...

Shaz what if… What if there wasn’t a socialist system of education? Would other alternatives surface? Would those alternatives become optimized over time to be every bit as effective as the current systems? Would the presence of those, call them “free market”, institutions in some way provide inspi...

You have here a discussion on theory of government. In Theory socialism benefits society more then individualism or our capitalism. Fact is though socialistic societies collapse due to many reasons. One of which is corruption of the very top officials. ‘Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts ab...
