Wow, it's been almost a year and a half

TTI is known for its intellectuals. This is a place for thinkers to gather and exchange quotes, thoughts, or other topics that might not appeal to the average gamer.

Was cleaning out my desk and came across my EVE Online software and got a little nostalgic. Decided to check to see if TTI was still in existance.

To my surprise it is. Just stopping by to say sup to anyone who actually remembers me. Hehe

Good luck to you all.

Hiya Emizzon,

Nice to see that you still remember us. It is always nice for us when we see old members dropping by to say hello.

With the new Exodus expantion next week are you planning on returning to eve at all ?

Not likely, I'm still playing FFXI, my reason for leaving EVE ^_^;

Hard enough to do school and FFXI (plus I'm looking for a job now) so I don't think I'd be able to handle EVE as well.

Have you gotten space stations yet? I've missed soo much, what kinda stuff is going on now? Well, just the stuff you're allowed to tell me, hehe.

Hiya Emi

Thanks for stopping by. Stations are coming soon and we're saving up our mins and Isk for some ventures in that direction finally. We have a retired-Taggart section on the forum here, perhaps others your age would appreciate hearing from you.

Retired Taggart Section? Must be in the areas I'm no longer allowed to view. Hehe.

Truth be told, I do miss the late night mining sessions with TTI, and if I could manage it, I'd come back in a heart beat. My hatred and anger towards asteroids knows no ends.... I'd tear those things apart just for the pure sweet taste of revenge! O.o;;

But then again, many platers have probably advanced to such great levels, it'd be too much of a hassle to even attempt to catch up.

So, I'm thinking about starting EVE back up again... since I need some sort of entertainment and nothing that will eat away my time into the wee hours of the night only to realize that I have a final to take in 2 hours. Also, reading goes hand in hand with mining, which is what I'm probably gonna be doing alot of... reading that is...

Anyway, figured I'd post this thought before it gets trampled by others... and at the same time, get some feedback from those who may have known me a while back.

Nostalgia can be troublesome sometimes :?

Forum Necromancy!

If you played EVE once before you know how good many of its concepts are vs. the standard mmorpg XP grinding. Exodus was huge for EVE and the game is currently going from strength to strength without many of the typical late success mmorpg problems like mega-inflation.

Absolutely ! It would be great to have one more member that could share his experiences from the early days of TTI.

I think you’ll find mining in the modern age is more conducive to studying as well. The new mining barges run on a 3-minute cycle. If you over lap it you can get 5 minutes of solid study time in between cycles.

Come on back to the game Emizzon !

The same thing happened to me! I stumbled upon the old Eve install when I was tidying up my hard drive and nostalgia hit. I bet Golda remembers me, but not too many other people, I joined Taggart way back in Oct of 2003, with the same name, but without the period (wouldn’t let me log in as my old name). I was really busy when I left last summer, I was moving, getting married and starting school in the fall, not to mention running a painting business. I had more than I could handle and so Eve had to take the boot. However, things are more stable now and I have been looking for a persistent world for my wife and I to play in. I was looking at World of Warcraft, but at fifty bucks a CD key and then $15 per account, that is $100 to start and $30 a month. I don’t think it is that good. I am sure that I am now a complete Eve newb, I don’t remember anything about where to go or what to do. What is new in Exodus? How is Taggart doing in the grand scheme of things? Would you like another couple members? Anywho, it is nice to see that everyone is still alive and kicking. Keep it up.

Hiya Octavian, Emizzon,

Nice to see you are both attached to Eve :D

Changes, well, there are too many to list in a single post i think.

Brief highlights are,
-New jumpgates in 0.0 space along with player conquerable stations.
-Player owned stations are also here with moon mining and refining and awesome defense. The research and manufacturing modules for them are yet to be released though.
-Lots of new ships. We had Interceptors (fast frigates) with the Castor patch last year and since then we have had Covert Ops (cloaked frigates), Assault (armoured frigates), Heavy Assault (armoured cruisers), Logistics(cruiser based support ships), Transports (armoured industrials), Destroyers (new ship class) Battlecruisers (new ship class) and Mining Barges (new ship class).
-Tech 2 is still only half released. We now have most tech 2 turrets and weapon upgrades but the e-war system and the missile system are being reworked so those modules are still only tech 1. There are new mining lasers, both tech 1 and 2.
-Propulsion changed radically.
-Complexes and Deadspace added. Complexes are like pirate bases. Lots of battleships to kill. Deadspace is a type of space bubble where MWD will not work. A large proportion of agent missions will send you to deadspace bubbles.

That is probably enough to make you think.
Hope you both come back. It is always nice to see old faces.

Yeah, lots of stuff... gonna take alot of time to catch up on it all... But at least I still got my 3million+ skill points spread over the 58 skills I got.

Definitely missing my 2 Thoraxes and Badger II's

Just let me know if I should join Taggart in game or if I need to go through the process of applying again. And any other stuff that I might need to do.

Can't wait to get back in game and starting up, with my schedule now, I might actually be able to partake in some 0.0 mining. Hehe. or I could just mine but loads of Veld and Scor in a relatively safe area till I get used to playing again.

I have a question. Who is Dagny Taggart?

i actually went around this forum and read a good deal of it. someone posted a rather lengthy and fairly detailed account of what tti went through..... yes i know its not the whole story and some parts were glossed over, but it was enough to make me slump in my chair so to speak....

I joined Taggart at first back when they were most powerful and I was not able to stay much after the game went public, so I don't know the full story either. Where has Taggart gone since then? How many active members do we have right now, I was just curious. I did indeed start the account up and have been playing a little bit, getting used to the game again. My wife has been playing a little bit too and also is getting her own account. I was wondering if Taggart would take me back? And if my wife could join also. I am really looking forward to some great times with all of you. Dagny, do you think I could get in on some of those mining operations? Anyways, it is good to be back.

Active members: not as many as in beta. However there are usually a bunch of people on each night operating the POS (Player Owned Structure, a base with a refinery and other facilities which you can deploy yourself in space). This has been a great success and people are making lots of isk (props to Gantros, Dagny et al. for getting this going so well). The PvP is fairly quiet at the moment, but I'm trying to do something about that. You wouldn't want to dive into that straight away anyway.

Regarding the other history, that's a long story ;). Several wars, subterfuge, intrigue, corp thefts, a few relocations, the collapse of a couple of major alliances, etc., etc. I'll fill you in properly sometime...

Re-joining: We have a general open-door policy regarding former members, however it would be good if you (and your other half) submit an application anyway, just so everyone knows who you are. It'll be a rubber-stamping process though.
