and the ability for them to connect to the web. If you were to pick up the PS3 or the Xbox 360 and EVE Online where to be released for one or both of these consoles, would you switch over?
For me, if I was able to be in a large group and managed to be able to play with the sound on and full graphic effects, I probably would.

ok see i have this pattern in pvp..... click click to set direction and hit f5 for mwd..... click on target name in overview, quickly move mouse over and hit the lock buttonon the selected icon, and then the default orbit icon. at some point ill hit f6 for scrambler/disruptor and f1-f4.
now..... if that process is easy enough to do in console..... sure ill go for it, but i doubt it would be as easy as a mouse
people that play fps on consoles just make me laugh...... because you can tell the bots are timed to shoot at them to miss ast first and then hit, to give the player time to adjust his crappy controls over to aim. i would be on the third target with a mouse compared to them still being on the first target..... and if they played against mouse using players, they would be dead.
and actually im thinking of ways to make eve doable with hotkey/button menus and subdivision secondary keys to get to the item on the list faster. but still, there are a lot of menus etc and that doesn work well for consoles. besides, i dont have a tv and i have a nice comp and speaker system, perhaps next ill get a projector for my comp heh.

EVE, on a console.... !? There's a greater chance of you finding yourself ice-skating the frozen depths of hell whilst constantly being struck by lightning, all the while wondering why that meteor had to 'land' on your house.
I could go into many reasons why EVE on a console is never gonna happen, but I'd rather spare myself the effort.

Your Anode Neutron Particle Cannon I lightly hits FEDERATION CLONING FACILITY, doing 0.4 damage

Because the console manufactures work on the basis that at least 1/4 million units of each title will be sold would be a good starting point.Xavier Zyrae wrote:/me breaks out in manic laughter... hahahahahahaha omg, lol, are you serious?Emizzon wrote:If you were to pick up the PS3 or the Xbox 360 and EVE Online where to be released for one or both of these consoles, would you switch over?

WoW maybe, but Eve I would say not. It's far too niche.
AF
Act.
The economic model could work if it was a still a subscription service. EVE as it currently is wouldn't be ideal, but more because of console demographics. However some sort of massively multi-player online space game could work, something a bit more action-oriented but sacrificing some of the depth.

Yep, as long as it has a UI that's designed to be usable from 10 feet away while viewed on a low-res TV screen. Oh, and of course all controlled with a joypad...Mark A wrote:However some sort of massively multi-player online space game could work, something a bit more action-oriented but sacrificing some of the depth.
