Extended Info:
1) What are your unique characteristics that set you apart from most people? (your views, achievements, etc):
- I am unique because I try to be rational in my views. So many people let there emotions get in the way of reality. For example, my friend's grandfather is a very intelligent and nice man, but because he was once mugged by a black man, he is racist towards African-Americans. I try to just look at facts and keep my person feelings aside.
I read the forums and it seems like many people here are atheists. I am a Christian (although I disagree with many things my church says and distrust organized religion), partly because I believe atheism is a religion also (you cannot prove that God does or does not exist). I think this is consistent with my other philosophies because I interpret the Bible say that it is a personal choice to help others, and should not be mandated by the State.
2) Why are you playing EVE?
-I like playing EVE because it rewards you for playing smarter and not longer. While earning ISK is easier if you play for 6 hours a day, you can make the same amount in an hour if you play smart enough (When I first started playing I made virtually nothing until I learned how to play).
I also like the game. The people are usually intelligent and interesting. It is fun and has awesome graphics.
3) Why are you applying to Taggart?
-When I was looking through corporations I saw the name Ayn Rand in the information guide about Taggart. In American Lit. we had just read Anthem. I really liked the book, especially the observation in the preface that a collectivist society could not be technically advanced because people were not allowed to challenge the accepted ideas. I looked up objectivism, and while I do not agree with all aspects of it, and it matched my philosophy that each man should live their life to attain happiness, not just be tools "for the greater good".
I like how the corporate structure (no taxes ) rewards those who actually work. I read the forums and it seems like the people here have very intellectually stimulating conversations.

"Objectivism is not only true, it is great! Why? Because of the volitional work a mind must have performed to reach for the first time so exalted a level of truth—and because of all the glorious effects such knowledge will have on man’s life, all the possibilities of action it opens up for the future." -- Leonard Peikoff

Wow, Ayn Rand Institute really works. It sends out free copies of Ayn Rand books to high school teachers who are willing to them those books.kzogs wrote:When I was looking through corporations I saw the name Ayn Rand in the information guide about Taggart. I highly suggest reading her larger works, such as The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.
For one reason is that our entire corporation/alliance is built around this and only this philosophy.
