It's been a possibility for years now as discussed in the following thread from 2004.

While this site might be more for fun, their info is usually correct and very much up to date.

Re: Objectivist Movie
Well IMDB seems to say in production, but it has been in the works since 2003, so its hard to tell if it will actually come out. Though IMDB also says it will come out this year, which doesn't seem so likely. The whole story seems to have a long history of being scrapped whenever someone tries to produce a miniseries or a movie from it. At least on the wiki page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Shrugged_(film)

"Objectivism is not only true, it is great! Why? Because of the volitional work a mind must have performed to reach for the first time so exalted a level of truth—and because of all the glorious effects such knowledge will have on man’s life, all the possibilities of action it opens up for the future." -- Leonard Peikoff

Somehow I can't see this working as a two part movieThe challenge has been whether it's one or two movies
Re: Objectivist Movie
I know that you probably could tell who Galt would be if you read the book, but is it written possibly in a way that it would be difficult to detect if they changed it a little? I also want to know if it would be worth it to perhaps read the book first or after for this or another reason? (I do plan on reading it soon) Also, interview makes the movie sound quite promising.

I've always been of the opinion that Atlas Shrugged would work better as an episodic animated series than as a movie. Movies are meant for rather simplistic plots and I think that Atlas Shrugged is too complicated to adapt to that medium readily.

I can see episodic. It would make a perfect miniseries. But animated? It's a bit advanced to be marketed to children, and it doesn't have enough schoolgirls or tentacles to be in that other class of animation.Ginuad Amarasen wrote:I've always been of the opinion that Atlas Shrugged would work better as an episodic animated series than as a movie. Re: Objectivist Movie
I must admit I'd prefer a stylised 2D animation over 3D. A sort of art-deco line-art style, like 'Batman: The Animated Series' that Warner did in the 90s.
I've grown up with animation, as have most people in my age bracket and it's generally not seen as a "just for kids" thing anymore (just look at the runaway success of Adult Swim). I mainly prefer going the animated route because it keeps costs down (and let's be frank, nobody's slinging gobs of money at this idea).

If Tolmart doesn't have it in stock, you get a free shuttle!
(Must be something with a BPO cost of less than 20 mil. One shuttle a day and per an item.)

Sadly, if it's the original dragonball Vegita does not appear. Which makes the entire 6 hour epic pointless and sad.Ginuad Amarasen wrote:VEGETA, WHAT DOES THE SCOUTER SAY ABOUT ITS RUNNING TIME?
