Well I finished the Crash Course, and I was impressed by how intricate the chapters are. I’m not sure I learned anything new, but the presentation was exceptional (I appreciated the text transcript in combination with the audio). Certainly many people who encounter the site may not know much of that information & can benefit a great deal from the information.

I did take away a sense of impending doom and urgency from Chris Martenson’s overall presentation. I think the most provocative portion for me was the 40 year gap between peak oil discoveries and peak oil production in the US. If the US market serves as a model for the global market, then we are sitting at about 40 years since global oil discovery peaked.

It seems to me that whenever resources have become scarce in the past, excess population has been resolved by some pretty serious events. Chris makes a very compelling presentation. Is it time to brush up on the survivalist skills, and get a remote piece of land?

I think it is most important simply for people to not be caught by surprise and to start thinking about how they organize their lives. I'm not expecting armageddon, but it is worth thinking about how to deal with $20/gallon gas and the dollar in hyperinflation when making decisions such as where to live/work and what investments to buy.
