Greetings from Omaha

Post by Sevnara »

I would like to introduce my player for Sevnara here :-)

My name is David West. I am 42 and live in Omaha, NE. I work as a web system administrator for the Douglas-Omaha Technology Commission, though I am not thrilled to be working for them.

I am a blogger (like most folks these days it seems), active on Twitter (@Nebraska_Dave is my gaming/non-politic name, @ltfngr is my political/economic tweets).

I developed my own political philosophies over the years then discovered Ayn Rand and noticed they matched up almost exactly with her own. I've now read Atlas Shrugged twice, and what she predicted is what is happening these days in the real world.

Because of that, I am one of the original 30 who started the Tea Party movement in the country. I was on the first conference call after the Rick Sanchez rant on CNBC that kicked off the Tea Party movement. Though I don't actually organize events now, I still maintain communications with groups across the country.

When I saw the name of Taggart Transdimensional pop up in the recruitment channel, I knew this had to be where I applied. I've played many MMOs over the years, beta tested many of them, and have been looking for a good space MMO for a while. I finally got around to Eve, and now here I am.

Heh heh.

I found trying to be secretive was not in my nature. Of course, I travel in a car with bumper stickers saying "Keep the Change" and "Obamunism: Coming Soon to a Country Near You".

My comment about my work is due to its nature. It is working for local government, which is also growing more and more 'looter' every day. With the horrid economy, however, I am not in a position to "Go Galt"...yet. I'm planning for it, however.

Omaha? Just left there a few years ago and visited this past Christmas. I'm sure we passed by each other, sorry if I didn't wave  Glad to have you here, will see you in game.
