Hello all,
After years of rumor, Star Trek online finally went live. I'm not really a Trekkie, but have been waiting for years, since the days of Elite on my Amiga, for a truly open ended space sim.
STO nearly crushed my desire to ever play any game again. While Googleing "Star Trek blows", I found mention of "Eve", saw that it was from an Icelandic company, and thought, "what bad could possibly come out of Iceland?" In response, Iceland disrupted global air travel for a month. A sign if I have ever seen one...
I played the trial for 5 or 10 minutes before I, eyes blurred by tears of joy and hope, signed up for a full account.
Hail!

"Objectivism is not only true, it is great! Why? Because of the volitional work a mind must have performed to reach for the first time so exalted a level of truth—and because of all the glorious effects such knowledge will have on man’s life, all the possibilities of action it opens up for the future." -- Leonard Peikoff
