comes straight down to happiness. Very simple, but how to achieve that happiness is the complex part.

Each person must discover the meaning of their life for themselves, for what gives life meaning varies from person to person. Nobody can give meaning to you and those who attempt to do so are merely attempting to enslave another.

Wow, I started writing 1 sentence which then turned into pages... until I deleted it all.

The meaning of life is death.
The purpose is up to you.

I sat here for 10 minutes trying to say the same thing more succinctly so I wouldn't have to quote someone else. Damn you, Tolthar! I agree wholemindedly, however, but I'm a bit dispirited that this answer is on page 3 and there are so many wrong answers before it. :( Ok, Oleks answer was good too, but it's basically the same as this one. There are 2 1/2 pages of sillyness before it, is my point. Sad.
