The global warming debate is "OVER!" (tm)

TTI is known for its intellectuals. This is a place for thinkers to gather and exchange quotes, thoughts, or other topics that might not appeal to the average gamer.

2007 was the coldest year in long, it by itself cancelling out all the global warming of a century. I guess they could get back on global cooling, or just "extreme weather", now.

Worldwide as all the global things are :)
Though the global temperature may not really tell anything about the temperatures in various places.

Surprised this hasn't come up in this thread yet...

http://www.oism.org/pproject/

19000+ scientists who oppose global warming, and the reasons why they do.

I've examined all this myself previously; as a result, I'm generally of the opinion that man-made global warming is a garbage theory, on account of the fact that atmospheric CO2 is a relatively minor contributor. There are all kinds of other things that are likely to cause some degree of increase in CO2 levels, and human industry is a relatively minor contributor to that... which is, in turn, a relatively minor contributor to overall temperature increase; which I'm fairly certain is nothing to be concerned about in the first place. I could dig up more of my old research and start going into this, if you're interested.

Best quote from this: "Science makes it perfect and the government just screws it up."
Ex-CEO of Taggart Transdimensional

"Objectivism is not only true, it is great! Why? Because of the volitional work a mind must have performed to reach for the first time so exalted a level of truth—and because of all the glorious effects such knowledge will have on man’s life, all the possibilities of action it opens up for the future." -- Leonard Peikoff

If you still think that there is some form of merit to any chart or graph identifying warmer-than-average temperatures, prepare to have your mind blown. No comments on whether global warming is real or not, only hardcore evidence that Dr. Mann (primary author of the famous hockeystick graph) is good at manipulating the hearts of minds of the mass public.

The global warming idiocy reached a new height today, now the environmentalists have turned against each other and 16 states are suing the EPA for not doing more to force auto manufacturers to comply with their own (the EPA's) standards.

It's tough to say, but looking at some of the links by that article, it seems that msnbc is a wee bit biased on global warming.

Still, nothing like state vs. federal court cases on something wholly unimportant to make you feel all warm and fuzzy at tax time.
