A Non-Standard Introduction

Where to begin? Your Corporate Philosophy hit me in the square in the jaw like a truth hammer... or something. I believe I exemplify the qualities you are looking for in members, specifically self-motivation, leadership and integrity. The character attached to the name I have registered with has been in the same Alliance for 4 years, with the exception of a brief hiatus. I have made some very good friends in that Alliance and we play many other games together. This is where things get tricky. I have no desire to leave that Alliance, because of the friendships I have made there, but I have been mostly afk for over a year now, because my Eve experience has grown a bit stale. I wanted to register with that name, rather than with an alt or making up a story because that toon's history best represents my history in the game and because I value honesty and integrity.
So, why am I here? I have recently acquired (or am in the process of acquiring) two characters for the purpose of Industry (Rulerodeath http://eveboard.com/pilot/Rulerodeath and Nubbas http://eveboard.com/pilot/Nubbas). I am specifically interested in WH production. In fact, I only came across your site when looking for WHs for sale. Industry is a side of Eve that I have not had a chance to experience, mostly because it is not encouraged in Flying Dangerous. I believe the environment and philosophy of Taggart is exactly what I need to be able to thrive. IRL, I am an extrinsically motivated person. I have always done well in jobs that pay by commission or tips. It is in my nature (and human nature) to strive for personal gain and tangible results. I believe the structure and experience that Taggart can provide will be exactly what I need to become space rich, and enjoy Eve again, which in my ultimate goal.
After determining that I would delve into the Industry aspect of Eve, I have come across many corporations. Until I found your site, I was very discouraged. Almost every industry corp I have come across is a pyramid scheme where only the highest levels of the Corp receive financial reward equal to their output. In many cases, they do nothing and make more than anyone, while the proletariat is expected to slave away "for the good of the corp".
So, by now I'm sure you're thinking that there's no way in hell you'd ever let someone in your corp while they have a character in a non-sov holding 0.0 alliance. It is important to me to keep my main there, because without the ability to hang out with my friends and go on the occasional 0.0 roam, I would be losing what Eve has always been about for me. Mostly, I want to be able to kick it with the guys that have become my friends, even if that aspect of Eve has grown stale. I know that some people get off on the whole treachery/double-cross thing. All i can say is that I am not one of those people. I know trust would have to be earned, but I am confident that after you got to know me, you would trust me. Besides, I would have as much to lose as anyone. I would be committing a large amount of time and investing pretty much everything I own into Taggart. If by some small chance FIGL came into one of our WHs while I was there, I would tell them to back-off, and they would most likely listed to me bc I have been around a long time and am well-respected. You would actually be safer with me around! One less PVP group to worry about. That said, it is highly unlikely that there would ever be a situation where there would be a conflict of interest. FIGL avoids WHs unless there is a complete idiot in a juicy target, paying absolutely no attention to d-scan or the WH entrance.
What I can bring to Taggert is an exhumers V pilot with very good refining skills and an Orca/research/T3 and Capital Construction pilot, with other useful skills, like PI. I have also just started a dedicated trade/hauler alt. I would also be willing to adjust my skill training as necessary to maximize profits. Most significantly, due to some medical issues, I am unable to work. This means I have all day and night to play Eve. I am very excited to get my hands dirty and build something. I do have experience in shooting at sleepers. I have spent a bit of time in a C3 before, but I would really prefer to focus on the indy side of things.
Of course, my Eve history doesn't really tell the story of my real life. I am a Navy Veteran. I am 29 years old. I am a cancer survivor; I received a bone marrow transplant 5 months ago. I absolutley do not want anyone's sympathy, but it's part of who I am. Anything else you want to know, just ask.
If it is 100% imperative that I bring Jayhawk over to be considered for admission, I would consider it.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
