Welp all, here's the dealio,

FIrstly, sorry about not writing for so long but since Omni decided to stop posting my letters since he's so busy I decided to stop writing him. =)

I have been in basic training for 6 months now. I was re-injured when I tried to go back to training and was 3 weeks from graduating. Sux2bme.

Anyway, I'm probably going to be discharged, medically seperated under honorable conditions, due to stress changes and fractures thorughout my legs. These injuries, BTW, occured while in medical hold, sad eh? That's what they get for putting a guy w/ messed up legs on the 3rd floor.

Anyway, if I do discharge, I won't be home until mid-August probably. The odds are also good to get some sort of compensation from the USAF once I am discharged because I have to go through a medical board. I'll find out what's going to happen to me tomorrow or the day after, so pray for me if you're into that sorta thing.

See you in Aug.

I thought you were getting convo leave? WTF happened to that? Discharged... damn... I'm sorry to hear that mano. All I can say, is get smart on the regs. I'm doing a bit of that now (with my heart condition etc.. ) You have to know the regs, so that they cant' make a mistake and end up screwing you over... know your rights mano.

You still know my number... give me a call.

Yosh,

Sorry to hear about your problems. Good luck with the medical board. When I left the Navy it was this way (had some health problems after four years). It was determined a "pre-existing condition / service agg" which means my issue was prior to going into the navy but was made worse by my service.

I have a 15% disability rating with the VA and get a small (very small) pension every month because of this.

This will probably be the route they go with you. While your stress fractures happened in the service they'll probably track them to prior to going in. Push for as much of a rating as you can get.

Once you get out you'll have to go see your VA represenative. I know there are some rules that require over 180 days of service to qualify for certain things but it sounds like you've got that much time in already?

Good luck.
