Hi everyone,
I finally got around to playing the game a few hours this we and I thought I would share my first impressions and the corresponding questions of course
- First, the courrier missions
I think I got scammed. I accepted a courrier mission with no information, good reward, high deposit though. Long story short, it was illegal good and I ended up paying an overpriced deposit and the fine. Bottom line: half my free cash gone in space...
I'm sure you rich guys out there are willing to pay good money (good for a rookie) to move normal goods across space. How can I find trustworthy people that need hauling service?
- Second, the warp time
It takes a lot of warping time in this game... The practical question is: Is there any way I can get here and there faster by getting new equipment, skills, etc? The second question is: On the long run, do the experienced players still spend that much time warping, or is it a constraint for newbies?
- Evolution
I have a lot less time to play this game than an average player I think. Do you have any good tips for me not to waste too much of my time at the beginning. I can't do anything about the skill training since it's a matter of RL time, but would you say it's more efficient to gain money through agents, mining, trading, something else?
Can't wait to receive the answer to my application. Sorry for the long questions. Any help is appreciated, but you've been already very helpful anyway!
Safe skies!

Avoid player set courier missions unless you know the player that set them is trustworthy.
On all the player set courier missions and escrows you need to be very wary of scammers. Especially so with contraband items in player set courier missions.
Finding trustworthy people to do haulage for is one of those things that takes time.
Time spent in warp is essentially the same for all with a few modifiers.
You can make your ship warp further in one go by training Warp drive Operation (iirc) to higher levels and by training Energy Systems (increases cap and so increases warp distance).
The only way to go faster in warp is by choosing ship types.
Battleships, Cruisers and Battlecruisers warp at 3AU/sec
Assault Cruisers warp at 3.6 AU/sec
Industrials warp at 4.5 AU/sec
Frigates warp at 6AU/sec
Covert Ops frigates warp at 13 AU/sec
Untill Exodus came out the two usual best ways to make money as a new player were either mining Scordite or doing kill missions.
Exodus seems to have severely screwed up the missions for higher level players, but for new players it is probably still worth doing level 1 and level 2 kill missions.
