New Applicant -- Thaddeus Griff

Hello, friends!
I just wanted to stop by on the forums here and introduce myself to everyone! This seems to be an amazing community / organization of individuals who actually work towards corporate AND social goals simultaneously, among many other things, in the EVE world. I look forward to applying officially to the corporation, which I will be doing immediately after this post, but I figure that it's probably better for me to introduce myself directly to everyone first.

Who am I? -- My name, as in the title, is Thaddeus Griff, procurer of ore, and learner of the mining craft. I am a leader AND a follower, willing to take initiative where it is needed, and learn from example when others are willing to provide them.

Which is, of course, precisely why I am applying -- too many corporations out there are based on either too strict a ideology of "Do what we say, and maybe it'll be fun, but in the meantime, have some stuff", or based on nothing but the grit lying on the floor of the Station Office. But just from browsing the recruitment thread on the Official EVE Forums, the FAQ and Recruitment sections of this site, and the local forums, it is amazingly clear to me that this is much more.

What do I have to offer to this group? -- I offer everything that I can, and that is neither too much, nor too little, in my opinion, than what is hopefully necessary to join this fine group. I am lighthearted, someone who enjoys a good laugh more than even ISK itself, and if I bring nothing else to the areas of my travels, I promise to bring a positive outlook. (Don't worry, I'll bring more than that, too :D ). I also have a hard-working mindset; although real life and school do keep me from being on EVE 24/7, as I would like to be, I can assure you that when I AM able to get on, I will work my very hardest to help whoever needs it, and further both my abilities and earnings, and those of my fellow corporation members.

I am currently piloting The Orehammer, a Procurer - class Mining Barge, and have reached approximately the halfway mark in ISK for the Retriever medium-class Barge along with an accompanying second Strip Miner I. At the same time, I am training my skills in Mining, Astrogeology, and the Mining Barge itself, all of which are currently alternating on the long path to level 5 (they are all currently at level 4). With these abilities, I hope I can bring a great set of abilities, traits, and just overall help to this fine group of people.

Also, I am intrigued and excited to see a corporation in EVE that takes itself seriously enough to establish its own footing and views on economics / government within the game. I have read some of the works of Ayn Rand, and while I may not fully understand yet the Objectivist philosophy, I am a great supporter of Capitalism, and am thus certainly inclined to excitement at seeing a corporation with the same founding disposition.

Thanks guys, I hope to see some of you soon ingame or otherwise,
Thaddeus Griff

well...

we certainly look forward to processing your application.

we have some lucrative mining operations out in 0.0 that could fit in more miners :) tanking provided of course. we even have the capability to provide you with a barge on site.

otherwise we also have secure space ops setup. you may find yourself with more isk than you know what to do with....

Thanks guys!
Oh and in response to first reply...
0.0 ???
  That's just awesome!!!
I've had to mine omber for about 3 weeks now in my barge due to the fact that... well.. I'm not risking my hefty investment solo in 0.0, but that'd be the thrill of a virtual lifetime :D

well it is very profitable, and generally very quiet once you actually get to our station. I generally offer members of TTI everything they need to mine here.... ( in exchange for some time spent mining ice to fuel our station hehe)

very..... very profitable.

a good 0.0 mining op is a full order of magnitude more profitable than empire, sometimes two. instead of gaining millions in empire, you could be gaining tens or hundreds of millions in 0.0

Thad, in your barge you can be making about 20 M isk an hour cutting high-ends!

We can set you up with a barge out in 0.0 so you won't even have to risk flying one out. Of course in the true sense of Objectivism, you'll have to pay a fair price for it... but we can streamline your transition into the 0.0 operations.

Good luck on your application ! I look forward to running operations with you.

Warning to you, don't fly into the asteroid fields without protection you'll lose an Osprey like me. Doesn't matter ISK wise but time wise you have to make the trip again from empire if your clone activates, hopefully :)

So your luck finally ran out....

We were beginning to wonder if you were some how blessed with preternatural good fortune. I mean how many guys can travel out to 0-G, in a hauler, run HED in the middle of peak time, get locked and shot at by four Shinra, get locked an shot at by Stain – and make the run twice in the same ship !

Sorry for the loss of your cruiser Grake, but it is good to know that you are leaving some of the good luck for the rest of us.
:D

It was my fault actually for trying to take on Serpentis or whatever they were instead of running away. I had enough time for that :)
