A matter of Case.....
Posted: Wed Feb 20, 2008 2:59 am
After numerous days seeking a like-minded corp within which I could thrive, I happened across Taggart.
I've included some of my application info below so feel free to peruse and comment.
Basic Info:
EVE character - Case Jansen and Rayme Spectre
Your preferred nick/name - "Case" will do either way.
TTI Division (or major occupation if unsure) - Case would likely enter D'Anconia Mining, and Rayme would likely work with Mulligan Defense
-- I started Case on my own (as pure mining / industrial) and inherited another account from someone (in lieu of cancellation), though Rayme, as a character, is entirely mine. Both accounts will be around as long as I play Eve --
Your age - 27
Timezone in the world - EST
Extended Info:
1) What are your unique characteristics that set you apart from most people? (your views, achievements, etc):
I'm logical to a fault. As a teen I dealt with all of the typical issues, both emotional and social, that come up during adolescence. I probably didn't do a very good job of it because, at some point, I decided to put life on hold and figure out what I was doing in this world. Hundreds of hours of introspection and thousands of pages later, I started to realize exactly where I stood amongst my peers, I was just as vital and important to this world as any of them, and even the bloke nobody likes is just as vital and important to this world as I was. If he wants to be.
I quickly understood that I can impact this world as much as any global leader, I just needed to stop fooling myself, and keep all of the pleasant/harsh realities of life in the front of my mind, and, combined with sheer determination, I would accomplish whatever I wanted.
For brevity's sake, I'm unique to most people because I've shed my bubble of untruth, which kept me happy, but restricted from becoming great. So I know that one day, if I want to be a household name, I can be.
2) Why are you playing EVE?
EVE allows me to interact on a microcosmic level with thousands of people that are interested in a sub-set of activities that I find interesting. Industry, society, combat, corporations, teams, etc. I don't get the opportunity to experiment with industrial activities nor do I have any interest in 'actually' protecting a squadron of resource collectors from potential attack......but simulating it all is great!
As I play most games, the options go from many to few, from what I know of EVE, the options go from few to many. I see this as a game that I'll play for years to come.
3) Why are you applying to Taggart?
I'm applying to Taggart because I have places to go and people to see; every other corporation wants to swallow me up and keep me moving at the same pace as the corporation. These corporations expect that I take no specific action unless sanctioned or initiated by 'someone who knows better'. Yet the possibility that I might know better myself rarely enters the equation.
I'm applying because I need to work with intelligent, self-motivated individuals if I'm ever going to get anything impressive done. It would be very satisfying to propel both myself and the TTI machine into a benevolent yet dominant position in the galaxy.
