Figured since I am reapplying again I might as well describe what has happened since last time.
Well, when I started in EVE, I joined a corporation (the first corp I joined) with an '03 player as a CEO, and he gave me, for no reason, over one hundred million isk. This was great for me at the time, I got in a battleship pretty quickly, joined a corp that moved to 0.0 space where I eventually ran out of isk, only to be given more by my RL history teach who had left some of his stuff in an outpost that was taken by goons that I had access to, so he gave me most of it, and gave me a list of what he wanted back (turns out I got blown up hauling it back to empire anyway), so anyway I had another 100 million isk to fuel my character without needing to earn isk.
I later bought gtc's and sold them, and began playing eve less and less, since any amount of money my character, being young, could make, seemed insignificant compared to the amount I already had, and hadn't earned, I soon left taggart to go back to 0.0 in the same area of space I had been in before. In february, I finally pretty much quit EVE, I stopped playing altogether for a couple of months, and when I returned, I started doing trading, and I made some profit, but still not enough to make me want to play, but anyway I reapplied to Taggart, and having been slightly interested in buddhism at the time, was rejected.
The first good thing that happened to me in Eve perhaps was that, and even in RL. As after being rejected I became motivated to learn about objectivism and began doing so by looking for the objective view of certain things on www.aynrandlexicon.org , I was still talking on the taggart channel whenever I played EVE, and when I left to california on vacation, I brought with me Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. I read Atlas Shrugged and now, having come back, am reading The Fountainhead. I have adopted an objective view of things and am actively integrating objectivism into my life.
Also, Before I left for vacation, on the advice of a TTI member, I created a new character, and over vacation trained him, but vowed never to touch my alt's (former main's) isk. I am currently using him as my Main and believe he will remain so, as my other character, while having more skillpoints, has a skill base that was created from a top down approach (having had the money), and so while he can do many things in eve, he can only do them badly. So while I can correct the mistakes (basically my character lacks support skills), I probably would end up doing what I always did, and not play eve.
So overall, without eve, I would quite possibly not have heard of objectivism. And by making the mistake of getting used to wealth I didn't earn, learned the value of earning ones own wealth. And to learn all that within a game, is fantastic.
