true objectivists will not really spend huge amounts of time in eve, since we value real value, thus real life wealth creation takes precedence for us

at least when we're being objective ;p


this is our fundamental discontinuity in eve

this is why i say in my bio "has eve become our virtual gulch?"

1. Eve is fun. The human mind needs fun. Denying it is denying human nature. There are not many more objectivist ways to have fun.
2. Isk can be converted into real money. So yes, you can probably earn real money in Eve, and thus real value.

I agree with the first point, but #2 would be in violation of the EULA and get you banned. Recently the CEO of EVE-Bank, Ricdic embezzled about 200 billion ISK, (at least; he also made a few suspicious unsecured loans that were defaulted on) and was caught selling it for real money. All of his characters were banned and it's causing a minor run on the bank he managed.

No, only money for in-game time. Or in-game time for fake spaceship money.

Well, I'm unhappy to learn that but it's their game.

If nothing else you can play for free which saves you RL money even if it doesn't make it.

Which, equates to having more real $ in your pocket;)

Use isk for your monthly upkeep, save cash, be objective
