Stopping by to say hello

Post by Dexxel Farcry »

Hello all,

I recently caught a recruitment add on the corp recruitment channel in-game and felt compelled to apply. My name is Ken. I am a fan of Ayn Rand, own all of her books. Beyond the subject of objectivism, I also am a subscriber to the Austrian School of economic thought. That is to say, I do not appreciate government attempts to "help" anything. Of course governments will always interfere, because, well, that what governments have always done. All throughout human history. If it wasn't Hammurabi's price controls, it's Democracy's welfare. And also, all throughout human history, all of these practices have failed. Miserably in fact.

About me....

Like I said, my name is Ken. I work, I invest, I save. I enjoy political discussions to an extent. I do not subscribe to any political Party. I consider myself to be a pure capitalist, which is to say I believe in free markets ABSENT a central banking system. As soon as any entity has the power to manipulate the value of a nations currency, all freedom in the market ceases to be. The entire market becomes regulated by virtue of it's credit. Which is exactly how the United States found itself in the position it did today.

Mostly I just would like to be left alone, completely. I'd like to be able to make money from a business without having to contend with government subsidized unions, and government thugs stealing my money under the guise of a quasi illegal tax on wages and income.

Unfortunately government leaving anyone alone can't happen in the real world, because apparently, I have to pay for everyone else, but in EVE, I don't have to pay for anything unless I want too. Which is why Taggart appeals to me.

My Character is geared towards mining. I am working on PVP skills at the moment, mostly for that "what if" scenario. I mostly pilot a hulk, or a mackinaw. I pilot a Thorax, I "can" fly a Megathron, and an Iteron MkV. I have submitted an application, I hope you all consider it. In the meantime, enjoy yourselves, I look forward to working with you all soon.

Greetings and welcome to the forums. We look forward to subsidizing our welfare programs using your profits, for the greater good... and the children.

Welcome to the forums.

"Objectivism is not only true, it is great! Why? Because of the volitional work a mind must have performed to reach for the first time so exalted a level of truth—and because of all the glorious effects such knowledge will have on man’s life, all the possibilities of action it opens up for the future." -- Leonard Peikoff
