TTI Philosophical Demographics

I've been hanging out on the taggart channel in Eve Online for the past few days, and I've noticed a few times quite a few odd premises expressed in chat (for a place that professes to be base itself on capitalism/Objectivism, at least). I'm aware that the taggart channel is open to more than just people in TTI, but I figure that most of the people who get to it were at least interested in joining.
So, I was curious - generally speaking (and this is aimed more at the people who have been around the corporation and it's members quite a bit), how many of the members of the corporation are actually Objectivist or, for that matter, even capitalist from your experience?

In the early days of TTI “
pre in-game corp. mechanics” (
yes TTI was an Eve corp before there were corps. in Eve) there wasn’t a real focus on the need for members with Objectivist views. Not that there are many of those old farts still active – I’m looking at you Dead Meat.
Recruiting people with Objectivist views became a partial goal some time ago for the sake of continuity. The thinking was that if a person had passionate attitudes in RL, these views would transcend into the game play and provide for a more stable member base. Typically this type of member is also successful in RL, which can translate in to lower in game activity. Actives are very important too. To me TTI’s future depends upon a balance of Objectivist thinkers and actives with mature and compatible attitudes.
As much as we’d like to apply a black & white objective standard to our personal philosophies, I think there are differences even between people that embrace the concepts of Objectivism. I haven’t seen anybody passing out membership cards or little red books to identify us, so it is difficult to tell who is and is not an Objectivist. I hear Obama is considering free tattoos for us, each sla.. err... comrade gets their own number.
Probably safe to claim that the supra majority of members are extremely capitalistic. I think back on the hundreds of commie applications that I’ve rejected in the past, it is safe to say that a member of TTI is not searching for new income re-distribution schemes.

I'd have to agree, most of our members are capitalistic, while not always necessarily being strict Objectivists.
I'd classify almost everyone as strong individualists who place a high value on self sufficiency.

TAGGART channel is a public channel; the primary purpose is recruitment, so expect average-Eve population there.

I have to agree, most people there are individualists.
