I slept on the rejection of my application and I have a few words to say.
..I felt I had a really good application, I followed all the instructions, answered all questions, even learned a thing or two. Admittedly, I'm a bit disenfranchised with the whole process, as I was summarily dismissed without so much as a by-your-leave. I understand that you have a corp to run and you want to run it as efficiently and effectively as possible....and while I don't know what the vote was, it saddens me to think that not one of you, save Redhotrebel bothered to say hello or even get to know anything about the person behind the lengthy application. For a "society" that feigns intellectualism and objectivism, it seems rather short-sighted and obtuse to not investigate more than "yeah, we read it", as I feel I'm one that could've been an immense asset and you've let me slip through the cracks. Your process is flawed. I stated very clearly I'm not looking for a handout, just some like minded individuals to work towards a common goal of acquiring wealth and supremacy while fostering an equally beneficial relationship.
That being said, I've gone through and deleted all my posts...I mean after all, if you don't what me here, why should I leave an impression that I ever was here, so you can just think of me as another faceless name that you never bothered to know...and you can feel free to delete this one as well. I'm sure you'll dismiss it as a disgruntled applicant anyway.
...but thanks all the same. I thought this would be the place for me, as I loathe and despise the smart mouthed smack talkers who haven't lived their lives enough to know whether they're shot, fucked, powder-burned, or snake bit....the kids who push the game-mechanics envelope to steal your things, the pirates, the thugs, the kids who have nothing better to do than sit outside a starport and talk about everyone's mother. Yeah, I thought here are some intellectuals, here are some people I can get along with and actually ENJOY playing the game, and as an older gamer, these things are important to someone like me.
but....I suppose even I can be wrong, on occasion.
I realize that as one of the older corps in the game, you have a reputation and a brand identity to protect, but by denying my application, let alone not giving it even a second glance, you've done yourselves a great disservice.

We don't owe you anything. Not even a second glance. That attitude is part of the reason your application was probably rejected.

Ozeeba,
I've debated as to whether or not even respond to your post, I have a high distaste for emotional blackmail and this feels like one. However, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you have written this post in an honest attempt to better understand why your application was rejected. I would hope that such means would have been done privately and not in such a public manner as it doesn't convey a tone of questioning rather a "disgruntled applicant" as you stated.
TTi has a very high rejection rate, I know that seems really harsh but we only accept people that share our philosophy. We don't accept/deny people based in sp's or add everyone just to have large corp member numbers. I'm sorry if that was not explained adequately to you before you took the time to apply. We have a large corporation with people who share our philosophy and morality. For example: I probably wouldn't be accepted into a pirate corp being a "carebear" as my goals and desires would not be inline with those held by that corp.
I cannot speak for, nor indulge information from the HR members that voted on your application, all I can say is that the application process gives us a general idea of whether or not an individual would fit in. No, it isn't a 6 month "let's get to know you" kind of corp. Once again this may seem as a premature "write off" but it is what we have and works in my opinion.
I do, however, sincerely hope that you find a corp that is a better fit for you.

As I try to stress to applicants, we aren't your average corp. Based on your posts here and application, you quite simply don't understand us. That is why your application was rejected. Whatever your internal conceptualization of us is, it's wrong. I'm sorry we aren't what you thought we are, but such is life. Good luck in your future endeavors.

I'm not currently in the application review process. But I would like to add one perspective.Ozeeba wrote:I'm a bit disenfranchised with the whole process, as I was summarily dismissed without so much as a by-your-leave.
Any added feedback on a rejected application only creates an opportunity for added angst (however great or small).
And actually as far as taking time to get to know you, I think its fair to assume that the panel of reviewers did read your forum posts. I did and enjoyed the discourse. I'm sorry that it didn't work out fly safe.
