Hello. I've been experimenting with EVE since October 09 using 3 accounts. After playing around with mining, mission running, scanning/exploration, trading, and research I still have no clue what I want to settle down with ... if anything. These decisions often take time in a complex sandbox; though reason suggests that after 6 months of play, specialization may never happen. That's ok too [shrugs]. One certainty though: I'll always be trading. Number crunching and turning cash into more cash has always been fun. However, there's a problem with a focus on trade alone; it doesn't take all that much time and it's a lonely business.

I've been told that EVE is a richer experience in a Corp, so I've been looking around and was intrigued and confounded by a fusion of Rand and an MMO. I read a small fraction of the posts herein - and it shed some light. I read Atlas Shrugged decades ago; I didn't recall much of it but it was interesting getting a refresher.

Aside: Your write up, in part, sounds like, "Representation without taxation." [smiles]

Question: I don't really have a primary character yet. This character, J20, specializes in mining/refining, but I also mess around with a scanner/explorer, trader, and 3 researchers. Do you have members with multiple characters?

Which bit has that ring to it? There are not any taxes that I know about.

it's a piece of the old warcry reversed as a play on words - an attempt at being clever. you don't have taxes that i know of [thus, without taxation] but the corp represents its members. [shrugs]
