I lived in san diego calif for almost 25 years. one of the reasons i left was that the 911 terroists had contemplated targetting one of the nuclear powered carriers that are based there. also, we routinely worked near these things, with in a few hundred yards.

up the coast is a nuclear power plant that i would drive by on at least monthly basis. i cant imagine what would have happened if those guys had flown a plane into it.

that web page is a sobering reminder of what a accident or a hostile act can do a people and thier land. makes one wish that we had never discovered this particular technology.

and across the ocean we have a mad man in north korea who seems bent on using nukes one day. scary, to say the least.

and of course, our president (bush) is funding research into bunker busting nuclear weapons............while at the same time trying to take away MWD's from other, less, stable leaders. rather ironic, dont you think.

I think you mean WMD. Although, MWD's in the wrong hands can be equally scary.
