What type of music gets you goin?

Post by Wesley »

This was a thread from the old forums too, but I'll post it here as well.

When I play EVE or whatever game I may play, I usually turn off the ingame sound and listen to stuff on Winamp.

Current songs and streams in my playlist are:

EVE-Radio - http://www.eve-radio.com
Digitally Imported - Trance and Goa/Psy channels - http://www.di.fm
Ninja Tunes - Bruce Lee MC
Prodigy
PPK
Paul Oakenfold
Underworld
Orbital
The Darkness
Tupac
Red Hot Chili Peppers
....and quite a few others.

Anyway, what's in your playlist?

Plenty of 70's.... Mostly I listen to eve-radio from a change to my playlist, but my playlist includes a lot of Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Rolling Stones, Kings Of Leon, Crosby Stills and Nash, erm.. other similar stuff.

That's funny... I still have the EVE music softly running in my headphones too... for the same reason...

I have that cliff martinez aountrack (Traffic) very good.

Once I move, in a couple days i will have CABLE internet! woot, so i can run my favorite Shoutcast channels, probably SomaFM and a station that broadcasts Ambient From Bratislava.

I listen to Kruder and Dorfmeister, a lot of Trance, Ambient and every now and then i like to put a Slayer/Sepultura soundtrack for Vice City, best when doing rampages or the Vigilante Missions. If not that it's VROCK and KCHAT (hehe)

I have a large collection og classical that i use to read. Last stuff i got was Andres Segovia PLaying Bach and the Sountrack for the Movie "The Pianist", this last one is really good.

ohh btw i try to avoid the EVE soundtrack whenever possible, i find it very frustrating musically. DOn't ask why, cause i can't tell you 100% but it has to do with the patterns that teh composer uses, in teh end it gets very tedious and boring. I find it interesting that in otehr games like in Medieval: Total War the music is a highlight, but eve soundtrack was a letdown for me. Maybe they should have a popular competition for people to submit tracks and the winner gets his track and name in the next expansion (Shiva).

Sepultura rocks, esp. their stuff before Chaos AD. After that, it's a little over-produced for me.

I kind of know what you mean about the EVE soundtrack. In general, I like it... a few tracks especially... it seems to fit with the feel of the game world. But, it can get tiresome.

I like your idea of the player-submitted track for Shiva. I'm sure there are a lot of EVE players who are skilled with QBass or Logic and can put together some good tracks. You should submit that idea on the official forums! :D
