Hi everyone,
my name is Hunny Ryder. I chose this name because I am a fan of the James Bond movies and Honey Ryder was the first "Bond Girl" in Dr. No. To my dismay, the correct name was not available to me at the time of character creation so I had to improvise. Hunny Ryder is not my only character in Eve, neither is it my first one. I have three others, two of which are older than I am. One of them is a maxxed out miner, another is highly skilled in orca/command ships/logi support. My youngest char I am training in ECM. I am the combat pilot. I have about 38 Mil. SP and I have been playing since 2009. This is the character I am online with most of the time.
My current corp is not very active and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I am getting bored with high-sec and the constant mission running. I've been monitoring the recruitment channel for a few days now, and I quickly found exactly the corp I was looking for. Please give your member Suntzu88 a pat on the back. I liked her style of advertising in the channel. Short and sweet and to the point.
I have had a little experience in Wormhole living. But we were all just a bunch of carebears in our C2/4. Not one of us had much PvP experience and at the core there were only 5 or 6 active players. It was only a matter of time before the inevitable happened. And it did. One lazy Sunday afternoon, shortly after DT. I was the only corp member online and I observed the first ships entering the hi-sec. A couple of battleships at first. I can't remember which ones. No panic, I thought, people often just "passed through". There was nothing I could do about it anyway. Ten minutes later, more ships came in. And more and more. I started to take more interest in what was going on. What to do? I took a closer look in a cloaky ship. As I arrived the bubble went up and then, I am ashamed to admit, I panicked a little. This did not look good. What was I to do on my own?
I decided to "hide" in the relative safety of my POS and await developments. I warned my corp mates via mail to avoid entering the hi-sec. One by one they came online and the invading fleet was growing fast. They were already pounding one of our POS's. There was no way we could even hope to counter so many. We wondered how much more the WH could take. The experts in the corp quickly came to the conclusion that the hi-sec was on the point of collapse. Quickly, the probers in our midst prepared their ships so they could begin scanning for the new hi-sec as soon as the old one was dead. But we weren't fast enough. In fact, they beat us to it by several minutes. Sheesh - what a bunch of no-hopers we were!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, after much discussion amongst ourselves, we decided to negotiate instead of fighting. They wanted our WH and there was nothing we could do about it. The invaders were honourable and permitted us to leave with our Tengus and our Pods intact. Our corp disbanded and we went our separate ways.
To this day, I regret our decision. I wish we had stayed and fought. We would have lost everything we had, but I think we would have kept our self respect. Oh well, such is life.
As a postscript:
I had about 500mil in PI stuff tucked away in various CO's in that WH. And a scanning alt. I managed to sneak in several times one afternoon and got it all out. At least some compensation.
I hope I have been able to give you a little insight into my character. If you check the bio of my char "Lucan SarDiablo", you will understand more of my playing philosophy.
Thank you for reading.
