As of last night I have turned my account over to a friend. His first act was to leave TTi (thanks Gunny for the help with this). I have enjoyed my stay in Eve, and especially in TTi. I feel like TTi gave me a chance to play with mature gamers (very hard to find in most games), and I enjoyed working with most of you. Unfortunately I no longer enjoy Eve, because it relies to heavily on PVP, and I dislike PVP.
Hopefully we can keep in touch, and if any of you decide to play City of Heroes, look me up.

P.S. I would have posted this in the corp section, but someone removed my access over the weekend. Hopefully I can get "Former TTi" access now.

Bigger guns, we need BIGGER GUNS!
Nah, it's pretty much like Diablo with superheroes. You against NPCs with PC help. The Villains expansion might change that but until then its all PvE. Gets boring IMO after a a while, but until it does it's excellent fun. After char creation you immediatly feel like you are a superhero, you run around, do missions and help people on the street who are getting robbed. After helping they come and thank you, pretty cool. Sadly the gameplay and content is minimal, its the missions and that's it. There is no real market, there is no PvP at all, and it's heavily based on levels. Oh and no items. Just spell boosting parts, so it's pretty much a very low variety of things you can do. If you like to play for hours on end per day it'll wear out pretty fast.Pendragon wrote:Take care cole. Wanna give us a review of city of heroes? I thought that was all PvP, super heroes vs super villains.
Obviously the lack of stuff and focus on just a few things also has its good sides, the missions and world is wellmade, the game runs pretty well, and it's great fun. What there is, the missions, the world, the character designs(you can pretty much look the way you like, there are millions of ways to look, its really amazing how different each player looks.) are all great and for a change even the launch was one that worked, not the usual MMO crashes and lag for the first months.
The gameplay with friends is where the core of the game lies, up to 8 players in a group doing solo missions or short storylines with a couple missions in it. Since the characters follow the really classic type design of support spellcaster, healer, long range, high damage, tanker type heroes pretty nicely group action becomes nice small group tactics and you work through dungeons one room at a time with clear roles as to who does what. Soloing on the other hand suffers from that, some types have no problem soloing , while others pretty much can't make any damage at all. My controller(slow spells, freeze type stuff etc.) can take on a 20 person group of enemies and make them pretty much frozen in place, they can't do anything to him but he has absolutly no ability to deal out enough damage to kill them, unless i wanna stand there for hours. On higher levels it becomes worse, as the HP on enemies rises so high that their hp regen is better than what i can deal out in damage....
Anyways that's a short review of it, fun but restricted.
