hello from Taggarts 4th CEO
I just read the corp stub over on the EvE-O wiki
http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/Taggart_ ... rporation)
My entry was rather short. 8)
It also doesn't reflect the work I put into trying to rebuild a dying corp. Or the challenges I faced from the members at the time who were war beaten, tired and scared. We were to a very few players with almost no co-operation. It was a nightmare.
At the time I had been writing an eve related blog called One Tired EvE Pilot, which no longer exists. There I related all my eve doings. I had indeed attempted to pull off a small type of market scam and had scored a tiny sum from it. The money earned never found its way into Taggart's coffers or benefited Alaph, it was simply an attempt to play different aspects of the game. The downfall was when a disgruntled former member of TTI read my blog entry about the event. I had snubbed him in WoW by not joining his guild and he took his revenge with full force.
I resigned and almost had no one to give the corp to. No one wanted it, well not no one but those who had a passing interest did not feel they could provide the in game time needed to revive a corp. A discussion was made between myself and my mentor in the world of EvE (a former and long standing member of TTI). Musashi was the best choice for Tagggart. My mentor and I agreed that this would be the best move and Mush was approached. He initially declined the offer. A decision had to be made and I was rather upset at this point. Gantros said he would take over but it was agreed that he was an incompetent buffoon and would be a terrible CEO.
I picked Gantros half out of spite and half out of desperation. I left TTI and went on to fly with some of EvEs darker corps. My market knowledge led me to Es and Whizz who were the drug czars of EvE. After a grand tour with them I went over to Sniggerdly hopping to become a competent pirate. Real life and the Great War however meant that even Snigg was not into that whole piratie thing much anymore.
Now Im stuck in Afghanistan with a terrible eve connection and am just training skills. Once I get a stable enough connection I hope to build a corp based around small fast PvP ships.
Just thought I'd share the life of a former Taggart employee and CEO.
MarkA, who was CEO before me, taught me the art of flying covert-ops and not flying what I couldn't afford to loose. I can remember mining null sec with Gantros and Xav. I was with Tag for seven months. They were good months.
As of this writing though I have had a long standing agreement to pod Olek on sight. I don't know Olek and have no opinion of him at all but the contract is from a important pilot to me and it will be honored. So no hard feelings if I ever cross your path Olek and good luck with the Tag, she is a tough train to drive and I salute you for keeping her breathing.
Cheers

Re: hello from Taggarts 4th CEO
When I hit a board I usually try to help liven things up. That usually means starting a few whimsical topics, maybe a few argumentative topics, but all in all just adding, by sheer volume, to the overall board so as to entice people who may have become, lethargic or apathetic, to post. In essence, to bring some good to all involved if I can.
So I wonder to myself, what is the purpose of this thread? At first glance its positive as it links to the TTI evewiki page and that could be good for many to see the history of TTI. (Which is sparse in some areas but fairly accurate in what is there.) However I also find that the veiled threat to be in poor taste. More like the behaviors of COAD bottom feeding algae eaters. After all, if you got something to say, say it or stfu.
Of course for the undistinguished amongst us, any small bit of attention can be a salve for the envy gnawed soul.
Mind you I'm new to this board so I probably should not say anything.
So, please consider me not having said anything about the patheticness of your post sir.
Nothing said at all.

That's partly my fault alaph. I did most of the work on the EVE-wiki but I must admit to having copied and edited a corporate history already written on this site. This history had been reviewed and commented on my many different TTI members and although I thought several of the entries were rather short I didn't want to start rewriting history by just injecting my own thoughts.alaph force wrote:I just read the corp stub over on the EvE-O wiki

As I read it (correct me if I am wrong Alaph), Alaph is providing more details about the time and events that transpired during his tenure as CEO. I concur with Alaph’s history. As I recall the questionable market activity was with a toon unrelated to TTI. However as I recall, there was a Eve forum connection with did link Alaph and this other toon. Further more Alaph did provide complete transparency at the time.Shar Tegral wrote:So I wonder to myself, what is the purpose of this thread?
My impression at the time was that Alaph took an action that initially he felt did not conflict with his responsibilities as CEO of TTI (since the toons were un-related in game). The past leadership and influential members (of which I was not a party) at the time felt differently. Alaph was in a difficult position – he could not un-ring the bell. I consider his election to resign a noble gesture.
In coping with the situation, I believe Alaph reacted in a very responsible manner. He was forth right about his activities. He arranged for an orderly transition of leadership. And I as far I was able to determine he acted in the best interest of TTI with his character Alaph at all times.
It might be good to consider revising the Wiki entry regarding Alaph with the information he has provided. The information does not change events, but provides greater detail.
I am totally confused by the KOS contract thing, but I don’t think Olek is sweating the threat too much either.

First off its not a threat, veiled or otherwise. I'm not actively or even passively hunting Olek.
The request was made a long time ago, before TTi's entry into SSI or whom ever it was.
But again its not a threat and to be fair alaph now flies with the "if it moves shoot it, if it doesn't move shoot it more" mentality.
The old forums (which seem to have been moved here in tact) have alot of post about what had happened. Many might be locked up in PMs but for the most part the forums contain alot of the story.
I forgot to add Emizzon's immense help during that period. He didn't have alot of time to play as I recall but he was certainly one of my right hand men in deciding where to move TTi in order to attempt to rebuild it. In fact I believe Emmi picked Jarizza and my mentor agreed with the choice and as such TTi began a move there.
This also led to co-locating another of my alts mining corp out there (tAMI, Ashpool Manufacturing Industries).
tAMI was created so that TTi members could avoid being war deced in empire during the -5- wars. After TTi withdrew from the war and alaph left the helm a few of the newer members of taggart moved permanently to tAMI. I was more successfull with than tAMI than with TTi. Those who followed me there knew of the reasons for alaph's leaving but they made a distinction between Wintermute, alaph, and Black Tea (who was the scammer).
These were great times in EvE for me at least. I remember them fondly.
tAMI is still open though Wintermute is not in the CEO seat and not much is being done with it.
alaph now flies solo and awaits her chance to build a PvP corp based around small fast ships/gangs.
Black Tea has never been deleted. She has also never been trained. She merely sits holding that name.
I just remembered something. When I took the helm of Taggart there was an issue with some of our BPs being stuck in null sec and needing to be moved. GunnyP had some kind of involvment though my memory falters as to what exactly. I remember flying my buzzard down the Derelik-Curse pass HLW- (or something like that), loading up the BPs and running back home.
This was before warp to 0m mind you. The path was crowded with danger but a push was made, sometimes carefully and sometimes recklessly and the BPs were returned to empire. This is about the time that Mush started to entertain the idea of the BPO library I think. At the time the game mechanics made it difficult to figure out how to do this and it was not accomplished while I was in Taggart.
This is not COAD and I am not here to flame or threaten or anything like that. Just read the corp entry and got the itch to say hello. The itching released a flood of memories and so I am sharing some EvE lore with you. Part of that lore is that alaph was asked to pod Olek, that was the purpose of mentioning that. I might have made it seem like a threat and if so I mis-wrote.
Hope that clears up a few things.

There was a brief discussion via PMs with certain pilots about leaving in a much different manner, a much less nice manner. The idea was entertained but never acted upon. Also an alt of mine had been left in Taggart with director level status (Air'iana). It was some time before I let Gantros know about this "hole" in his wall So it wasn't a completely noble resignation. The actions that transpired left TTi off no worse than it had been before but to suggest that no thought of corporate suicide was made would be inaccurate. In coping with the situation, I believe Alaph reacted in a very responsible manner. He was forth right about his activities. He arranged for an orderly transition of leadership. Also if you read posts by alaphforce (not alaph force) you will notice that my signature still reads words that Mush posted during that period.

Ah that was a gem! And I do believe with practice all performance improves. This of course is independent of value judgments of the activity.Musashi wrote:people that don’t have practice being corrupt do stupid things.
I think just watching a few episodes of COPS bears out my comment. Not sure why I have such a morbid fascination with watching these idiots completely explode their prosperity. I guess it started way back with Drag Net. “The stories you have seen are true, the names have been changed to protect the innocent.” BS! By the time the cops are onto a criminal, that person crossed over from innocent to corrupt a long time ago. The final collar in a show like COPS is kind of like the commencement event concluding (for a time and perhaps for good) the criminal conduct of a crook. The irony is that majority of street criminals are illiterates, with weak impulse control, a lack of creativity and they do very stupid things.
Now Bernard Madoff (the orchestrator of the largest investment fund scam to date) was well practiced indeed. It appears that he ran a ponzi scheme for a very long time. He robbed Peter to pay Paul for decades and neither was the wiser. His was a heinous fiduciary crime, but I wouldn’t characterize the majority of his action as impulsive or reckless.
